as reported by Brandy Shaul of blog.games.com, it seems that there is still no definite date for the release of The Sims Social on Facebook Electronic Arts CEO Jon Riccitiello explained why.

"We aren't going to put out the stats. They're highly sensitive competitive comparisons, which is one of the reasons we're also not giving you a launch date. It's relatively easy for a competitor to buy all the relevant advertising, say 24, 36, 48 hours prior to a release."

it seems to me that they are avoiding competitors like Zynga to release a game exactly on the day that EA might release The Sims Social, thats why to avoid this, they will just probably release it at any day.

having studied Marketing a little, i could say that there current strategy [to let users LIKE there page and then if they reach a certain amount of likes, an item will be unlock] is a lame one simply because you let your customers wait for too long..... and customers doesnt want to wait in my opinion.

i hope that this strategy works though.
